Self imposed melodramas are a waste of the human spirit.
Denial of the obvious is a crutch i do not bear.
If your attitude sucks...people will agree that you do as well.
To assume the worst in people is to choose a life of misery.
When transference of bitterness occurs...self-denial is obvious.
Self justification is merely a tool used to rationalize the ego.
One who consistently plays the victim is doomed to become one.
Toxic people should be quarantined.
Misplaced anger only regresses the soul.
To wallow in self-pity is self-defeating at best.
If you don't know how to accept good advice,
then the hole you dig is your own to climb out of.
If complaining is your way of life...even the animals will resent you.
To lie to yourself is an act of cowardice and eliminates all hope of evolution.
To imply one is crazy when you know they speak the truth is a crime worthy of death as it breaks all the laws of nature.
Rational arguments are a waste of time when the ego is the primary voice of your opposition.
Hypersensitivity and melodramatism when bonded together by one's own silly insecurities lead to wasting people's time in a ridiculously egotistical fashion.
If you think only of yourself, if you forget the rights and
well-being of others, or, worse still, if you exploit others,
ultimately you will lose. You will have no friends who will show
concern for your well-being. Moreover, if a tragedy befalls you,
instead of feeling concerned, others might even secretly
rejoice. By contrast, if an individual is compassionate and
altruistic, and has the interests of others in mind, then
irrespective of whether that person knows a lot of people,
wherever that person moves, he or she will immediately make
friends. And when that person faces a tragedy, there will be
plenty of people who will come to help. ~Dalai Lama, from

Laughter is the best medicine.
The world can be a bitter and ignorant habitat at times. I mean, who hasn't looked up at the sky (insert deity of choice here) and screamed in utter exhasperaton, "ARE U KIDDING ME?"..."WHY AM I HERE WITH ALL THESE CRAZY PEOPLE???" They seem to have nothing to offer this world.
Wrong.
The cast of characters may be different for everyone, but most decent folk are 'forced' into the realization that there are a few good apples in this world......and a surprisingly huge number of fruit that isn't even "with it" enough to allow the sunlight touch it's skin. They never ripen....they never sweeten....and sooner or later they just rot all to hell.... turning into food for a potentially decent and palatable baby plant. I have found that the trick in dealing with such unapeeeeling entities, is a process I like to call sorting. Basically descerning the good fruit from the nasty fruit at first glance. Over time, one gets to notice the signs of bad ones...the selfishness...the closed-mindedness.....the inability to empathize with other human beings...u get the gist. You've seen these people....they're everywhere...like Starbuck's.
As dissapointing as this is to every budding idealist....it can also be a source of healing humor. These young souls are the court jesters of our time....and who doesn't enjoy someone prancing around in tights being stupid? I ask you...who?..grin.
So, back to my initial point...
...Laughter
Regardless of how OBVIOUSLY unbalanced the fruit cart truely is....the few sane ones amongst us can always find humor (and yes, a stronger foothold on our good nature), on every corner, in this Lifetime Movie of the Week on 'roids we call life.
Laugh...you'll live longer.
I understand (from news and external sources) that Spring Break is now upon us. I was surprised and amazed to hear such a thing on a day when nearly a foot of snow was falling outside my window..grin.
Unfortunately there are no sandy beaches, all night parties, or reckless abandon here at the Ledebur abode...no....WE are in full swing Home Schooling mode..grin.
All learning...all the time! Everything has turned into a lesson..grin...and dinner conversations quite frequently develop into word games. I must confess (although I am surely biased..grin) Hannah is an incredibly wonderous sponge, and enjoys working her brain every chance she gets..(such a proud moment for a mamma*). Her rapid grasp of the computer as well as with Photoshop (she said the kid paint software wasn't nearly as cool as MY paint program...beams*) consistently makes my mouth drop. Yesterday she even surprised me with a full coloring book she had found online and printed off herself! I mean come on..that's pretty cool to see..she's only 4!...grin*
For some people, all this teaching/learning may sound like an odd way to live...maybe even a bit boring...too much work.
To those people I say....when you are around a personality such as miss Hannah....you really have no choice but to be constantly entertained. Hannah is constantly changing the character she would like to pretend to be throughout the day and well into the night. For the most part though, she likes to be called Leo...(for those of you not 'in the know'...he is one of the Little Einsteins)...(for those of you who havent seen kid tv in a while...Little Einsteins is a cute yet educational cartoon with four main characters...Leo ..Annie..Quincy..and June). We have been fortunate enough to have met them all ..through Hannah of course...grin*
So, although I may be constantly exhausted in trying to keep up with my little redheaded monster, daydreaming for Calgon to quietly sweep me away to a bliss filled beach........witnessing Hannah, and her approach to life and learning, on a full time basis, is a truly magnificent gift for a mom...and I wouldn't change a thing.
